What is the Nu voor Later subsidy?

How it works, what you get and whether you qualify

What is it?

As a self-employed professional, you don’t automatically build up a pension. A pension provision helps with that, but it can be costly. That’s why the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) has set aside funding for self-employed professionals in the cultural and creative sector. Platform ACCT uses this funding for Nu voor Later: a temporary contribution towards the costs of your pension provision.

Who is it for?

Nu voor Later is for self-employed professionals in the cultural and creative sector who have a pension account, pension insurance, or who save voluntarily through a pension fund. Whether you’re part of the target group is determined in part by your SBI code. An SBI code is a four or five digit code that indicates what type of work you do. You received it when you registered with the Chamber of Commerce. You can find it on your Chamber of Commerce extract. More information can be found in the terms and conditions.

What do you get?

  • A contribution towards what you save for your pension provision
Do you pay money into your pension provision? Then you’ll get 50% of your contributions back afterwards, with a maximum of €450 over the whole application period.
  • Haven’t arranged anything yet? You may be eligible for a stimulansbonus
Did you start a new pension provision on or after 1 January 2025? Then on top of the contribution, you’ll receive a one-off stimulansbonus (a bonus to encourage you to get covered) of €200. This is paid out within three weeks of approval.

Please note: if you want to set up a pension provision and then apply for Nu voor Later straight away, follow this order: (1) open a pension account, (2) apply for Nu voor Later, (3) then pay money into that account.

Good to know: you can only use this scheme once. Multiple applications are not possible.
